Heidi E. Clark

Heidi E. Clark is a Partner in Dentons' Banking and Finance practice group and the Leader of the Financial Institutions sector group in Canada, based in Toronto. Her practice focuses on Banking and Finance Law.

Her practice is marked by a depth of knowledge and experience in advising both domestic and foreign financial institutions, institutional investors, corporate and institutional borrowers and government entities.

Heidi is adept at handling complex and structured financial transactions, with expertise in cross-border multi-currency transactions, syndicated financing, acquisition financing and alternative finance projects, including public-private partnerships and project financing. Additionally, her scope extends to asset-based lending, real estate and mortgage bond financing, aircraft financing and leasing.

Her in-depth market knowledge and strategic acumen are highly valued by clients, and her leadership has been crucial in crafting sophisticated financial strategies that meet and exceed client expectations.

Her experience includes advising the Montréal Port Authority, as borrower, on securing CA$1.16 billion in financing from the Canada Infrastructure Bank to support multiple phases of the Contrecœur container terminal expansion project; advising Ligado Networks LLC on US$3.85 billion in new capital raised to advance its plans to provide 5G telecommunication services; advising Sandvine Corporation on its CA$562 million acquisition by an affiliate of Francisco Partners and Procera Networks, Inc.; advising Comerica Bank as agent on a cross-border multi-currency CA$116.6 million syndicated financing; advising National Bank of Canada as counsel to the administrative agent and lenders providing credit facilities in the aggregate amount of CA$215 million for the development, construction and commissioning of 4 solar projects in Ontario totalling 38.5 MW; advising Royal Bank of Canada as agent to the lenders in connection with the CA$420 million refinancing for St. Clair Energy Centre; advising HOOPP Realty Inc. on the CA$375 million senior syndicated construction financing for One York Street in downtown Toronto; and advising JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. as agent to the lenders in the US$300 million syndicated refinancing for Entertainment One Ltd.

She also advised JP Morgan Chase as administrative agent and a syndicate of lenders with respect to a US$800 million five-year revolving credit facility for Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation, one of the largest revolving credit facilities raised by an entertainment company in more than a decade.

She holds an LLB (1996) and a BA (Hons) (1993) from the University of Toronto.
