Kate Millar

Kate Millar is a Partner in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, based in the Calgary office, practicing in Commercial Litigation. She practices in general litigation with a focus on complex commercial litigation, estate litigation, construction litigation, and obtaining injunctive relief. She also maintains a vibrant estate planning practice.

Ms. Millar has successfully represented clients before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Court of King's Bench of Alberta, and the Alberta Court of Justice in a range of matters including appeals, trials, summary judgment applications, emergency injunctive relief, civil restraining orders, publication bans, and confidentiality orders. She previously served as a Judicial Clerkship Student with the Alberta Court of Justice, gaining insight into litigation from the judiciary's perspective.

She is the Canadian co-lead of the firm's WomenLEAD committee. Kate holds an LLB with First Class Honours from Cardiff Law School, Cardiff University (2014), and a BA from the University of Calgary (2010). She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada - Ones to Watch in Corporate and Commercial Litigation and by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in Litigation - Corporate Commercial (Lawyer to Watch). She received the Lexpert Rising Stars Award: Leading Lawyers Under 40 in 2025.
