Lillian Y. Pan, KC

Lillian Y. Pan, KC, is Counsel in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, based in the Calgary office, practicing in Commercial Litigation. Her practice includes business litigation, securities, product liability, energy, and employment litigation. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of King's Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and the Alberta and Ontario Securities Commissions.

Ms. Pan has advised a major financial institution on CCAA proceedings and directors' and officers' liability, a Toronto real estate company on a right of first refusal dispute, the Attorney General of Canada in defending Federal Court actions challenging provisions of the Old Age Security Act, and Mohawk Medical Properties Real Estate Investment Trust on its sale to Invesque Inc. for a deal value of approximately CA$177 million. She was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2014 and received the Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022.

She holds a Bachelor of Law (JD) and a Bachelor of Arts (Double Honours) in English and Philosophy from the University of Manitoba. She is a senior advisor and mentor to the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, an instructor in the trial advocacy course at the University of Calgary Law School, and served on the Board of The Advocates' Society. She has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada in Corporate and Commercial Litigation.
