Michel A. Brunet

Michel A. Brunet is Senior Counsel in the Montréal office, practicing in the firm's Corporate Law group. His practice focuses on the sale and acquisition of business corporations and on their financing needs, advising public, state-owned, and private corporations across sectors including institutional fund management, energy, manufacturing, financial services, and brokerage. He also advises foreign companies on their establishment or acquisition projects in Canada.

Mr. Brunet has developed special expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, take-over bids, underwritings, private placements, stock exchange listings, debt financings, syndications, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements. He has been a director and member of the Governance Committee of Azimut Exploration Inc. and serves as Chair of the Board of the Arbour Foundation and as a director of Québec's Fondation des artistes. He is also a public representative and Chair of hearings for the Hearing Committee of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (OCRI).

Michel has contributed significantly to the senior management of Dentons Canada LLP, having served as Managing Partner of the Montréal office of Fraser Milner Casgrain, Chief Executive Officer of FMC from 2006 to 2010, and Chair of Dentons Canada LLP from 2005 to 2017. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Aéroports de Montréal from 2019 to 2022.

He holds an LL.L. from the Université de Montréal (1974). He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada in Corporate Law and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in Corporate Commercial Law, and is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
