Stephen Lloyd

Stephen Lloyd is a Partner in Dentons' Montréal office, specialising in Corporate Law. He is a Chambers-ranked transactional negotiator, strategist and deal-maker with more than 25 years of experience advising entrepreneurs, multinationals, real estate trusts and family-owned businesses on high-value transactions involving real estate and operating business assets.

Stephen's practice spans commercial real estate, forest products, downstream oil and gas, distribution, manufacturing and logistics, often advising clients on the particularities of Québec regulations as they apply to business structuring. He has advised Domtar Inc. on the sale of three pulp mills, Harnois Énergies on its acquisition of a 50+ retail convenience and fuel site network from Alimentation Couche-Tard, and EPR Properties on its acquisition of Village Vacances Valcartier and Calypso Waterpark. He also assists in establishing sustainable relations and joint ventures between natural resource companies and indigenous communities, and has served on the Canada Region board and as a director and trustee on various business and charitable boards.

Stephen holds an LL.B. and a BCL from McGill University (1993) and a B.A. in Economics and History from Bishop's University (1989).

He is recognised by Chambers Canada for Agribusiness: Forestry, by The Best Lawyers in Canada for Corporate Law and Natural Resources Law, and in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Forestry Law. He received the King Charles III Coronation Medal for lifetime contributions to wildlife conservation in Canada.
