Virginie Dandurand

Virginie Dandurand is a Partner in the Employment and Labour group at Dentons in Montréal. Her practice encompasses all aspects of employment and labour law, representing and advising unionized and non-unionized employers on complex employment matters, including human rights, employment standards, employee complaints, corporate restructurings and acquisitions, downsizings, restrictive covenants, and performance and absenteeism management.

She represents clients under federal and provincial jurisdiction across sectors including insurance, aviation, automotive, communications, advertising, consulting, and retail. She provides strategic advice on workforce management and major commercial transactions, and represents clients before civil courts and administrative tribunals. She has developed particular expertise in workplace harassment, as well as strategic advice on hiring and termination of senior executives.

She has advised on significant transactions including Lactalis Canada's acquisition of Agropur Cooperative's fine cheese division; the sale of a client to Walter Capital Partners; the acquisition of a Québec-based environmental professional services firm; and employment law issues in the sale of EACOM Timber Corporation, Vizimax Inc., Farnell-Thompson Applied Technologies, and Harnois Énergies. She also acted as local counsel for a Netherlands-based venture company on the acquisition of a Quebec-based cloud-based property management provider.

She is recognized by Chambers Canada for Employment and Labour (Quebec) and by The Legal 500 Canada for Labour and Employment. She holds an LL.B from the Université de Sherbrooke (2003) and is a member of the Quebec Bar and the Canadian Bar Association.
